Kitchen Committee

Everyone is asked to take kitchen duty two or three times during the dance year.  There is a sign-up sheet in the kitchen, and volunteers are appreciated!

The hall opens at 6:00 pm on lesson night.  When you arrive, the kitchen should be unlocked, and there should be three or four tables ready for set-up.

Set-up Instructions:

1)        Tablecloths – choose a color and cover tables.

The treasurer will set up the sign-in table; a club member will help with flyers.

2)        Start the coffee and/or hot water.   There is “fresh” water in the lower cabinet for these.  Use the chilled bottles for drinking water or punch.

3)        Set out hot/cold cups, napkins, ice water and beverage tray.

4)        As members arrive, they will often bring a variety of snacks.  We have extra bowls, baskets, serving utensils and plastic silverware.

5)        On dance nights, a fourth table is set-up for food.

6)        In the cooler months, ask someone to put out hangers.

Clean-up:

Often, those members not dancing will help with clean-up during the last tip.  Wash the coffee maker and any items used during the evening.  If there is hot water left over, use it to rinse the dishes, and please put everything back in the same place.

Lock the cabinets; the first-aid kit is last item to be locked.  If you have the key, make sure all three kitchen doors are latched/locked.

Decorations for Parties and Dances:

If you wish to decorate, there are several boxes of seasonal and other items you may use.  Please contact a member of the Kitchen/Decorating Committee for help locating these items.

Greeters:

Club members will also be asked to stand near the door and welcome guests and members at the dances.
